Elizabeth (Beth) Harrop, PMHNP-BC, APRN

Areas of Focus: Medical Management, children age 6+, adolescents, adults

Beth Harrop is an Advanced Practice Registered Nurse (APRN) and a Board-Certified Advanced Practice Psychiatric Mental Health Nurse (PMHNP-BC). Beth is a graduate of the University of Utah’s psychiatric mental health nurse practitioner program. She is board certified and experienced in treating clients of all ages across the lifespan with a specific focus on children and adolescents from age 6 and up.

She is experienced in working with mood disorders, anxiety disorders, attention-deficit disorders, post-traumatic stress disorder, and substance abuse disorders. She has many years of experience in both inpatient and outpatient mental health settings.

She has a unique ability to connect with her clients and views mental health treatment as a collaborative effort. She is an advocate of the combined approach of psychotropic medication management and psychotherapy.

She has over ten years of nursing experience in psychiatry, women’s health and working in the juvenile justice system, as well as a Master Degree in School Guidance Counseling.

Anneliesa (Anna) Allred, PMHNP-BC, ARPN

Areas of Focus: Medication Management age 10+

Anna is a board certified Psychiatric Mental Health Nurse Practitioner and also an Adult Gerontology Acute Care Nurse Practitioner. She graduated with a DNP from the University of Utah then went on to get her PMHNP post-Master’s certificate from Maryville University of St. Louis. She is board certified to treat all ages and part of her training was with our NP Elizabeth Harrop for more than a year.

Anna’s background is in critical care nursing and cardiology. She is excited to join our team and advocates a combined approach to treatment, including psychotherapy and medication.

Brenda Toone, DNP, FNP-BC, APRN

Areas of Focus: Mental Health Medication Management for children age 6+, adolescents, adults and Medical weight loss 

Brenda is a board certified Family Nurse Practitioner (FNP-BC) and holds a Doctorate of Nursing Practice from Weber State University. She loves connecting with clients and her goal is to follow evidence-based practice while working with patients to meet their goals. She prescribes medications to treat anxiety, depression, ADHD, bipolar and mood disorders, OCD, anger and oppositional behavior for clients across the lifespan. (ages 6 to adult). She has a special interest in both women’s and LGBTQ+ issues. Brenda has an additional focus in weight management, and prescribes Zepbound or Mounjaro (tirzepatide), Wegovy or Ozempic (semaglutide), phentermine, and other medications to help you reach your health goals. 

Her passion for mental health led to a doctoral project to improve depression screening at a women’s clinic, which was presented to an international research conference. Earlier in her career, she attended Brigham Young University, graduating as class valedictorian with a Bachelor of Nursing. Her nursing experience includes a seven-year focus on women’s health, both in hospitals and primary care. Brenda grew up in central Texas but has lived in Utah since her teen years. She loves all four seasons, because she can enjoy skiing with her friends and family in the winter and run half marathon races in the spring, summer, and fall. On her days off, you can catch her reading a good book on the back porch with a Dr. Pepper in her hand.

Elizabeth (Regan) Harwell, PMHNP-BC, APRN

Areas of Focus: medication management and healthy lifestyle choices in children and adults

Regan is a board certified psychiatric mental health nurse practitioner (PMHNP-BC) with eight years of experience as a registered nurse on multiple inpatient psychiatric units. She has advocated for those who struggle with a variety of mental illnesses, including suicidality, schizophrenia, bipolar disorder, substance abuse, autism, oppositional defiant disorder, personality disorders, anxiety, and depression. Regan uses a holistic approach to mental health, with a combination of medications, psychotherapy, as well as health and wellness techniques in her practice.

She is originally from the South and obtained her MSN from the University of South Alabama in Mobile, Alabama. She also has an advanced degree in elementary education from Mississippi State University and taught young children for twenty years before pursuing a career in nursing.

Georgann (Jann) Ranks, CMHC

Jann is a licensed Clinical Mental Health Counselor (CMHC). She has a Master of Science in Professional Counseling from Westminster College and a Bachelor of Science in Psychology from the University of Utah. She has treated a variety of individuals with mental health and/or relationship problems with a focus on trauma.

Jann has an array of experience in individual therapy and family therapy including Dialectical Behavior Therapy (DBT), Cognitive Behavioral Therapy (CBT) and Acceptance and Commitment Therapy (ACT). She is certified in Eye Movement Desensitization Reprocessing Therapy (EMDR) for children who have trauma. She is experienced in leading substance abuse and process groups.

Douglas (Doug) Hopper, LMFT

Areas of Focus: CBT, Anxiety, Depression, Marital Issues, Individual and Couples 

Doug is a Licensed Marriage and Family Therapist. He has been practicing as a therapist for over 10 years. He has a passion for helping individuals connect with themselves, and couples to connect with each other, which stems from his belief that one of the antidotes to mental health issues is healthy human connection. He has a strong desire to help individuals find balance in their mind, body, spirit, life and relationships.  

Doug has extensive experience in helping individuals, couples, and families deal with substance abuse. His experience also includes couples therapy, family therapy, cognitive behavioral therapy, overcoming codependency, anxiety, depression, navigating divorce, narcissistic abuse syndrome, holding boundaries, rebuilding trust, improving communication and more.  

Doug helps clients to empower themselves and improve their lives by taking personal accountability while simultaneously employing self-compassion. He gives clients the space to express themselves and deal with hurt, without judgment, while also helping them gain awareness on how to implement solutions.  

Sue Stephenson, CMHC

Areas of Focus: CBT, DBT, Trauma, Breath Work, Guided Imagery, Teens, Adults

Sue’s therapeutic approach includes Acceptance and Commitment Therapy (ACT), Cognitive Behavioral Therapy (CBT) and Trauma Focused CBT, sand tray, breath work, and guided imagery.

Sue can also help clients manage their lives using Dialectic Behavioral Therapy (DBT) skills. Sue sees both teens and adults. Sue works with people facing depression, anxiety, Greif & loss, mood disorders and substance abuse. She works with teens, adults and couples.

Alisha Mills, LCSW

Areas of Focus: Adults, Teens, anxiety, depression, OCD, trauma, CBT, mindfulness, accelerated resolution therapy (ART)

Alisha was born and raised in Utah and has practiced in New Hampshire, Maryland, Virginia, and Oklahoma. She earned her Bachelor of Social Work at Utah State University and her Master of Social Work at the University of Oklahoma.

Alisha has enjoyed working with individuals with intellectual disabilities, physical disabilities, clients on home care and hospice, the geriatric population, at-risk youth, and children, parents, and caregivers involved with child welfare as well as inpatient and outpatient mental health settings.

Alisha has a deep understanding of how a person’s upbringing and surroundings can affect their sense of self and core beliefs. She has a strong conviction that through hard work and persistence, individuals can become stronger and more in tune with their inner selves. This understanding will lead naturally to more self-understanding, self-love and self-compassion.

Alisha utilizes many evidence-based modalities in her practice such as motivational interviewing, mindfulness-based stress reduction, guided imagery, accelerated resolution therapy (ART), cognitive behavioral therapy (CBT), acceptance and commitment therapy (ACT), solution-focused therapy, and person-centered therapies.

MARIE RUSHFORTH- NUTTALL, M.Ed., CMHC, BCETS

Marie is a Licensed Clinical Mental Health Counselor, Board Certified Expert in Traumatic Stress and Advanced Grief and Bereavement Facilitator who has been licensed to provide counseling in the mental health field for more than 20 years. Formerly a Clinical Director of a residential facility and owner of an outpatient private practice clinic. Marie has experience with a wide range of clientele who have varying treatment needs. 

At Alliant Behavioral Health of Utah Marie uses DBT, Trauma informed CBT, EMDR, Bio/ Neurofeedback and experiential modalities as her main treatment modalities. Her clinical focus in on treating trauma, anxiety, self-harm, substance use, mood disorders, and chaotic interpersonal relationships and perceptions of self. Marie leads an active lifestyle and loves to box, camp, hike, stroll local art fairs and farmers’ markets and travel.
