Elizabeth (Beth) Harrop, APRN, PMHNP-BC  * MEDICATION PROVIDER

Beth Harrop is a Board-Certified Psychiatric Mental Health Nurse Practitioner (PMHNP-BC) and Advanced Practice Registered Nurse (APRN), specializing in the care of children, adolescents, and adults. She earned her advanced degree from the University of Utah’s renowned Psychiatric Mental Health Nurse Practitioner program and brings a compassionate, evidence-based approach to her work.

Beth has extensive experience in treating a wide range of mental health conditions, including mood disorders, anxiety disorders, ADHD, PTSD, and substance use disorders. She has worked in both inpatient and outpatient settings, giving her a broad perspective and deep understanding of the complexities of mental health care.

With over a decade of nursing experience spanning psychiatry, women’s health, and the juvenile justice system, Beth also holds a master’s degree in School Guidance Counseling. This diverse background allows her to provide thoughtful, developmentally appropriate care, particularly for children and adolescents aged six and up.

Beth is known for her ability to build strong, trusting relationships with her clients. She believes effective treatment is a collaborative process and advocates for an integrated approach that combines psychotropic medication management with supportive psychotherapy

Anneliesa (Anna) Allred, APRN, PMHNP-BC *  MEDICATION PROVIDER

Anna is a dual board-certified Nurse Practitioner in both Psychiatric Mental Health (PMHNP-BC) and Adult-Gerontology Acute Care (AGACNP-BC). She earned her Doctor of Nursing Practice (DNP) from the University of Utah and later completed her post-master’s certificate in psychiatric mental health from Maryville University in St. Louis.

With board certification to treat individuals across the lifespan, Anna brings a well-rounded, compassionate approach to care. Her psychiatric training included over a year of close collaboration with our own Nurse Practitioner, Elizabeth Harrop, enhancing her hands-on experience in mental health care.

Anna’s clinical background is rooted in critical care and cardiology, where she developed a strong foundation in complex medical management. She is passionate about integrating psychotherapy and medication management to provide holistic, individualized treatment. Anna is excited to be part of our team and is committed to helping patients achieve lasting wellness.

 

Brenda Toone, DNP, APRN, FNP-BC, PMHNP-BC  *  MEDICATION PROVIDER

Brenda is a dual board-certified nurse practitioner in Psychiatry and Mental Health and Family Practice. Using the tools of medications and psychotherapy, she is honored to partner with you on your journey from living your “medium-est life” to living your best life.

Brenda‘s dedication to mental health began early in her career and was the foundation of a doctoral project to improve depression screening practices at a women’s clinic. With training in both mental health and primary care, she is ideally qualified to provide treatment for you as a whole person. She has a reputation for authentically connecting with patients while valuing both shared decision-making and evidence-based practice.

Brenda grew up in central Texas and moved to Utah in her teen years. She loves all four seasons because she can ski in the winter and train for half marathons the rest of the year. On her days off, you can catch her reading a book on the back porch with a Dr. Pepper.

Elizabeth (Regan) Harwell, APRN, PMHNP-BC *  MEDICATION PROVIDER 

Regan is a Board-Certified Psychiatric Mental Health Nurse Practitioner (PMHNP-BC) with a strong foundation in inpatient psychiatry and over eight years of experience as a registered nurse in diverse mental health settings. She is dedicated to advocating for individuals facing a wide range of psychiatric conditions, including depression, anxiety, bipolar disorder, schizophrenia, substance use disorders, autism spectrum disorder, oppositional defiant disorder, personality disorders, and suicidal ideation.

Regan’s approach to care is holistic and person-centered. She integrates psychopharmacology with supportive psychotherapy, while also emphasizing wellness strategies such as lifestyle modifications, nutrition, and stress management to support long-term mental health and healing.

Originally from the South, Regan earned her Master of Science in Nursing from the University of South Alabama in Mobile. Before her nursing career, she spent two decades as an elementary school educator, holding an advanced degree in education from Mississippi State University. Her background in teaching young children has equipped her with deep empathy, patience, and a strong understanding of developmental and behavioral challenges.

Regan brings warmth, experience, and a thoughtful, integrative approach to each patient interaction—helping clients of all ages move toward greater emotional wellness and resilience.

Shauna Cheshire, APRN, PMHNP-BC  *  MEDICATION PROVIDER 

Shauna is a board-certified Psychiatric Mental Health Nurse Practitioner (PMHNP-BC) and Advanced Practice Registered Nurse (APRN), holding a Doctor of Nursing Practice (DNP) from the University of Utah with a specialization in mental health. She provides compassionate, evidence-based care for adolescents and adults, with a special interest in perinatal mental health, supporting individuals through the emotional challenges that can arise before, during, and after pregnancy.

With over 25 years of nursing experience, Shauna’s background is rooted in women’s health. She spent much of her career as a labor and delivery nurse, childbirth educator, and maternal-fetal medicine nurse, offering support to women and families during some of life’s most vulnerable moments. Her transition into psychiatric care was a natural extension of this lifelong commitment to nurturing emotional well-being, particularly for those navigating motherhood.

Shauna believes that mental health care begins with trust. She creates a space where patients feel safe, heard, and respected. She views each encounter as a sacred opportunity to sit with someone in their most vulnerable moments. Her approach is collaborative and patient-centered, emphasizing shared decision-making and holistic support. She provides medication management and is also trained in psychotherapy, allowing her to tailor treatment plans that align with each patient’s unique goals and values.

A Northern Utah native, Shauna is married and the proud mother of four young adult children. Outside of work, she enjoys singing and performing—often with her family—exploring local hiking trails and watching thought-provoking documentaries.

ALISHA MILLS, LCSW  *  THERAPIST PROVIDER

Alisha is a Licensed Clinical Social Worker who provides compassionate, evidence-based care to individuals navigating a wide range of emotional and mental health challenges. Her clinical focus includes helping clients process trauma, improve communication, set healthy boundaries, manage life transitions, and work through issues related to spirituality, religion, anxiety, depression, and other mental health concerns.

Alisha believes in a collaborative and empowering approach to therapy. She partners with clients to help them become confident advocates for their own well-being, guiding them toward meaningful personal growth and lasting change.

Drawing from a wide range of therapeutic modalities, Alisha tailors her approach to each client’s unique needs. Her toolkit includes Cognitive Behavioral Therapy (CBT), Dialectical Behavior Therapy (DBT), Acceptance and Commitment Therapy (ACT), Accelerated Resolution Therapy (ART), Advanced Integrative Therapy (AIT basics certified), Solution-Focused Therapy, Mindfulness-Based Stress Reduction, Guided Imagery, Person-Centered approaches and is a Holy Fire III Reiki Master.

Alisha earned her Bachelor of Social Work with a minor in Psychology from Utah State University and completed her Master of Social Work at the University of Oklahoma. She brings a rich and diverse background to her practice, with experience in both inpatient and outpatient mental health settings. Her career has included work with individuals with intellectual and developmental disabilities, those receiving home care and hospice, the geriatric population, at-risk youth, and families involved in the child welfare system.

Sue Stephenson, CMHC  *  THERAPIST PROVIDER

Sue is a dedicated therapist who works with teens, adults, and couples, providing a supportive and empowering space for clients to navigate life’s challenges. She specializes in helping individuals manage depression, anxiety, grief and loss, mood disorders, and substance use concerns.

Sue’s therapeutic approach is integrative and client-centered, drawing from evidence-based modalities such as Acceptance and Commitment Therapy (ACT), Cognitive Behavioral Therapy (CBT), and Trauma-Focused CBT. She also incorporates Dialectical Behavior Therapy (DBT) skills to support emotional regulation, relationship building, and stress management.

In addition to traditional talk therapy, Sue offers creative and experiential techniques including sand tray therapy, breath work, and guided imagery—tools that help clients deepen self-awareness and access healing in unique and meaningful ways.

With warmth, insight, and practical tools, Sue helps clients develop resilience, improve their relationships, and move toward emotional wellness

MARIE RUSHFORTH- NUTTALL, M.Ed., CMHC, BCETS  * THERAPIST PROVIDER

Marie is a Licensed Clinical Mental Health Counselor with over 20 years of experience in the mental health field. She is a Board-Certified Expert in Traumatic Stress and an Advanced Grief and Bereavement Facilitator through the Association for Death Education and Counseling (ADEC). Her extensive background includes serving as the Clinical Director of a residential treatment facility as well as founding and operating an outpatient private practice.

Now practicing at Alliant Behavioral Health of Utah, Marie brings a compassionate, result-oriented approach to therapy. She works with a wide range of clients, drawing on deep clinical experience to tailor treatment for each individual. Her areas of focus include trauma, anxiety, self-harm, substance use, mood disorders, and challenges related to identity, self-perception, and interpersonal relationships.

Marie incorporates a variety of evidence-based and experiential modalities into her practice, including Dialectical Behavior Therapy (DBT), Trauma-Informed Cognitive Behavioral Therapy (CBT), Eye Movement Desensitization and Reprocessing (EMDR), Biofeedback and Neurofeedback, and expressive therapies such as sand tray and play therapy. Her integrative approach is designed to meet clients where they are, helping them build resilience, insight, and lasting emotional wellness.

Outside the therapy room, Marie leads an active and adventurous lifestyle. She enjoys boxing, hiking, camping, exploring local art fairs and farmers markets, and traveling whenever she can.

Georgann (Jann) Ranks, CMHC  *  THERAPIST PROVIDER

Jann is a compassionate and skilled Licensed Clinical Mental Health Counselor with a Master of Science in Professional Counseling from Westminster College and a Bachelor of Science in Psychology from the University of Utah. She has extensive experience supporting individuals and families navigating mental health challenges, with a specialized focus on trauma.

Jann’s therapeutic approach incorporates evidence-based modalities such as Dialectical Behavior Therapy (DBT), Cognitive Behavioral Therapy (CBT), and Acceptance and Commitment Therapy (ACT). She is also certified in Eye Movement Desensitization and Reprocessing (EMDR) therapy, specifically trained to work with children who have experienced trauma.

In addition to individual and family therapy, Jann has a strong background in facilitating substance abuse and process groups, creating safe and supportive environments for healing and growth.

Lexy Kenison, CSW (She/Her)  *  THERAPIST PROVIDER 

Areas of Focus: Acceptance and Commitment Therapy (ACT), Cognitive Behavioral Therapy (CBT), Dialectical Behavior Therapy (DBT), Motivational Interviewing, Written Exposure Therapy (WET), mindfulness-based approaches, trauma-informed care, and somatic-based practices.

 Lexy supports adolescents (ages 12+) and adults through challenges such as anxiety, depression, ADHD, trauma, grief and loss, and low self-esteem. She also supports people going through big life changes, exploring their identity, processing spiritual or religious transitions, navigating postpartum challenges, or figuring out how to set healthy boundaries and improve their relationships.

 Her approach is holistic and person-centered—looking at the emotional, physical, mental, social, and spiritual parts of wellness. She draws from a strengths-based framework to challenge negative core beliefs, build confidence, and promote emotional regulation. Lexy’s style is straightforward and supportive, grounded in compassion and authenticity. She creates a space where clients feel safe, accepted, and truly seen—encouraging resilience and growth at each step of their journey.

 Lexy earned both her Bachelor’s and Master’s degrees in Social Work from Weber State University and is currently working toward licensure as a Licensed Clinical Social Worker (LCSW). Her experience includes working with older adults in medical and long-term care settings, providing in-home support and psychoeducation to parents and youth, and offering therapeutic services to individuals and families navigating complex life transitions.

 

 Kate Richardson, ACMHC  *  THERAPIST PROVIDER

Kate works with individuals seeking to enhance their experience of life, relationships, and self-awareness. She believes that one’s outer world is deeply influenced by the inner world, and she is passionate about helping clients explore their internal systems to heal unhelpful patterns of thought and behavior. She is particularly drawn to working with clients who are curious and motivated to gain insight into themselves in order to achieve meaningful personal goals.

Specializing in Internal Family Systems (IFS), Acceptance and Commitment Therapy (ACT), and existential approaches, Kate brings a compassionate and open presence to her practice. She has experience supporting clients dealing with depression, anxiety, ADHD, faith-related questions, sexuality, gender identity, trauma, and autism.

Committed to providing a safe and accepting space, Kate invites clients to explore their thoughts, feelings, beliefs, and behavioral patterns with kindness and openness.
